H2wo to Omega, Kelra to Onic in first wave of big MPL roster movements

Headlining the biggest move so far in the offseason was the signing of MSC champion Duane “Kelra” Pillas to Onic Philippines ending his five-season tenure with Smart Omega.

Kelra is joining hands with former TNC Pro Team jungler King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez in bolstering the Hedgehogs that also feature last season holdovers in Frince Miguel "ONIC frinceee" Ramirez, Jem "ONIC Jem" Lañojan, Jomarie "ONIC Escalera" Delos Santos, and David Christian "BOSS A." Gamboa.

Onic PH not only got an upgrade in its lineup but also on the coaching side after also acquiring the services of brain trusts behind Smart Omega in the past seasons. The team signed former Omega head coach Tony “Ynot” Senedrin and former-player-turned-assistant-coach Patrick “E2max” Caidic.

They will be joining hands with tactician Abraham “Bam” Adinu who previously coached Omega’s women’s MLBB team, Omega Empress.

Smart Omega, on the other hand, made sure to fill up the void left by the departure of its players with veteran players John Paul “H2wo” Salonga and Dexter “Exort” Martinez serving as the pillars of the team’s rebuild this season.

The two will be collaborating with MPL Hall of Legend CJ “Ribo” Ribo along with last edition’s Rookie of the Season Matthew “M4tt” Papag. 

Completing the crew are Jomari “Jowm” Pingol, Nowee “Ryota.” Macasa, Ryan Michi “RAYL” Asaoka, Christian “Westtt” Mangabay, Mark Glenn “Omg.Marked” Florencio, Louis Gabriel “LOUIS” Ariola.

Curiously left out of the Omega’s MPL PH roster was star roamer Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog after being relegated into the franchise’s MDL Philippines counterpart Omega Neos. The one-time MSC champion, however, can be promoted to the Omega’s MPL team even in the middle of the season.
