P489,000 worth of shabu seized in QC, Caloocan buy bust ops

Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and Northern Police District (NPD) seized P489,804 worth of shabu and arrested four suspects in three buy-bust operations in Quezon City and Caloocan.

Members of the Masambong Police Station (PS 2) District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Paltok, Quezon City on Friday, Feb. 16, after a concerned citizen tipped off the illegal drug peddling activity of the suspect.
Police identified the suspect as Vincent Galicia, 20, a resident of Barangay Bungad, Quezon City.
A police officer posed as a poseur buyer and successfully brought P4,500 worth of shabu from the suspect, which led to his arrest.
Confiscated from the suspect were 30 grams of shabu worth P204,000, a red pouch, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, DDEU operatives conducted a buy-bust operation at around 4:30 a.m, on Feb. 17, along Litex Road, Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.
Police identified the suspect as Melvin Llaneta, 58, a resident of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.
Confiscated from Llaneta were 25 grams of shabu worth P170,000, a coin purse, and the buy-bust money.
In a seperate anti-illegal drugs operation, members of the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) conducted a buy bust operation at around 1:31 a.m, on Feb. 17, along Torsillo St., Barangay 28, Caloocan City.
The suspect, whose name was withheld by the police, yielded 17.03 grams of shabu worth P115,804.
The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
