CEBU CITY – An ex-convict was arrested with a kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City, Cebu past midnight on Friday, February 16.

The 57-year-old suspect, Rakrak, was nabbed by operatives of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas, Police Regional Office-Central Visayas, and the MCPO-Intelligence Unit.
Police said the suspect, a resident of Carcar City, Cebu, was jailed from 1984 to 1991 for robbery.
He was again jailed from 1994 to 2002 for illegal possession of firearms.
In 2010, he was jailed again for killing another person but was released the following year.
Police said the suspect received his supply of illegal drugs through a prisoner at the Abuyog Penal Colony in Abuyog, Leyte.
In another operation on Friday, a 46-year-old man was arrested with packs of suspected shabu in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Joselito Pepito yielded 500 grams of shabu worth P170,000, police said.
