Two-sport World Champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty has no doubt that Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo deserves to be the next in line for his Muay Thai World Title.

But for Haggerty, that will pretty much be the end of the road for the Brazilian.

“Lobo deserves it. He stopped Saemapetch. He’s a great fighter,” Haggerty said.
“There’s respect there in the fighter sense. I just feel like we’re going to jell well. His style is perfect for me. He’s a perfect target for me, and I just can’t wait to throw down with him.”
Haggerty also believes Lobo’s style falls perfectly into his liking.
While the Englishman was impressed with Lobo’s comeback against Saemapetch Fairtex, he believes that the 30-year-old’s slow starts will ultimately be his downfall in this match.
Lobo struggled early against the Thai superstar, even getting knocked down in the fight.
But “Demolition Man” came back stronger, rallying in the third round to stop the Fairtex Training Center man and get the biggest win of his ONE Championship career yet, setting up a date with the red-hot Haggerty.
While that’s impressive, “The General” thinks Lobo’s slow starts will cost him dearly this time.
“I feel like Felipe starts very slow, and he’s got a very Thai boxing style, but you can’t relax like that against me,” he said.
“He did great against Saemapetch. He came back from a knockdown and showed great heart and great determination, so this will be a great fight. But he won’t be getting back up after I hit him. That’s the difference.”
Having demolished Lobo’s training partner in ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Fabricio Andrade with Lobo ringside to witness it, Haggerty believes he’s already winning the psychological game.
“I feel like I’m in his head. I’m 1-0 up against his training partner. I heard that Andrade gets the better of him in sparring. I’m not too sure how true that is, but if it is then, well, we’re going for round one!”
