Fire razes stores at Manaoag Church

MANAOAG, Pangasinan – A fire destroyed eight stalls selling religious articles at Gate 2 of the Minor Basilica of the Our Lady of Manaoag here on Thursday night, February 15.

SMOKE rises from burning stalls at the Minor Basilica of the Our Lady of Manaoag  in Manaoag, Pangasinan on February 15. 

Firemen from this town, San Jacinto, Laoac, and Mapandan, police, and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office immediately responded but the fire spread quickly due to the stalls made of light materials.

No one was injured in the fire. Cause and total damage are still being determined.

The fire was put out at 11:45 p.m.

Mayor Jeremi Agerico here said they are ready to help displaced vendors.

Agerico said he was saddened by the incident and offered assistance to displaced vendors.

"Nakakalungkot na balita. Sa mga kababayan nating naapektuhan sa insidenteng ito, maari po lamang na makipag-ugnayan sa ating tanggapan para sa puwedeng maitulong ng ating lokal na pamahalaan.  Papupuntahin din po natin mga kawani ng MSWDO para masuri at makausap po kayo.  Maging matatag at manalig lang po tayo. Salamat po," Agerico said.
