PAGASA: Easterlies bringing 'warm' weather across majority of PH
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, Feb. 15, said 'warm' weather may prevail over most of the archipelago due to the easterlies.

In PAGASA's 4 a.m. live weather broadcast, weather expert Benison Estareja said hot weather, with isolated rains, will be felt in most parts of the country due to the easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
"Sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao, mainit at may mga pulo-pulong pag-ulan dahil sa easterlies (In the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, it will be hot, and there will be isolated rains due to the easterlies)," Estareja said.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan" is still affecting a huge part of northern Luzon, said Estareja.
"Mayroong kalamigan ang panahon, pagsapit ng tanghali medyo presko pa rin ang panahon at pagsapit ng hapon hanggang sa gabi, nagkakaroon ng mga isolated light rains o pulo-pulo at mahihinang pag-ulan (The weather is cold, while in the noon time the weather will still be cool, and in the afternoon until the evening, there will be isolated light rains)," he said.
PAGASA said cloudy skies, with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, will be felt in the eastern Visayas due to the easterlies.
PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may occur in the affected areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
In Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will be expected due to amihan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
It also warned the public of flash floods or landslides that may occur in affected areas during severe thunderstorms.
