The National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) is set to receive P350,000 from the MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) following the staging of the MVP Cup One Invitational golf tournament held recently at the Manila Golf and Country Club.

The symbolic check was presented during the fellowship night hosted by the PLDT Group officials led by PLDT chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan last Tuesday, Feb. 13, where the amount came from the pooled donations from over 400 participants of the two-day event and the PLDT enterprise.
“We asked for donations from participants, like a mulligan, and the PLDT enterprise matched those donations para madoble siya,” said MVP executive director Jude Turcuato, who received the symbolic check from PLDT vice president and Enterprise Revenue Group head Jay Lagdameo and PLDT Vice President and head of Enterprise and International Marketing Chet Alviz.
“The MVPSF works with 19 different NSAs (national sports associations). Since it is a golf event, we picked NGAP because we think that it had the most alignment for whatever grassroots programs that they have,” Turcuato said.
The MVP Cup gathered partners of PLDT Home, PLDT Enterprise and Smart Infinity to promote camaraderie and love for sport in the golf course.
“You’re all invited not just because you’re all good golfers but because you’re valuable partners of the group, not only PLDT Smart but also of Meralco and the rest of the group companies,” Pangilinan said in his speech to the MVP Cup participants.
