CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the rehabilitation of a mountain road section in Pagbilao, Quezon.

DPWH Region 4-A Director Jovel G. Mendoza said the improvement of the Padre Burgos-Pototanin Junction Road section in Barangay Malicboy enhanced safety and accessibility for motorists.
Mendoza said a 70-meter crib-type wall concrete road shoulder and 144.30-meter concrete wall structure were strategically positioned to reduce soil erosion and improve safety in the area which has cliff-hugging curves and precarious mountainous terrain that made driving a harrowing experience.
"By addressing the inherent threats of the Malicboy Section, we're not only facilitating smoother travel but also protecting our communities from the devastating consequences of natural calamities such as slope collapse and landslides," Mendoza said.
The road rehabilitation project had a P96.5 million funding under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
