The Philippine National Police (PNP) released an order on Thursday, February 15, assigning Villaflor from Western Visayas to the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

“It is a promotion for him (Villaflor),” said Police Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson.

Villaflor, who assumed the post last May, was at the helm for more than eight months.

His leadership was focused on the curbing the illegal drugs trade.

During his stint, more than P360-million worth of shabu and marijuana were seized in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

Villaflor prioritized that lawmen assigned to Western Visayas were not using illegal drugs as he institutionalized the random drug testing by purchasing 5,000 drug kits.

He will be replaced by Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky.
