Speaking to reporters during an interview in Malaysia, where she visited as Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) president, the official warned against pursuing one’s crush.
“Kaya crush ang tawag sa tao na gusto mo dahil (The person you like is called a crush because) he will crush your heart and break your heart,” she said.
“Kaya huwag mo na lapitan (So, don’t come near them anymore),” Duterte added.
Valentine’s Day is a social custom celebrated every Feb. 14 of the year since the 14th century. Traditionally, couples express their affection through greetings and gifts.
