Catalino Binay, a barangay councilor in San Juan, Batangas, reported to the PCG in Tingloy, Batangas that MBCA Velocity carrying Wilbert and Edgar capsized while fishing near Barangay Makawayan, Tingloy, on Monday afternoon, February 12.

Wilbert was wearing a dark gray, v-neck T-shirt and dark grey short and Edgar light gray long sleeve and dark blue jogging pants when they went overboard.

Rescuers are conducting search operations in the sea of Barangay Makawayan, Tingloy and adjacent areas.

The Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog has advised its western border to be on the look-out for the missing fishermen.

On Tuesday, February 13, a woman named Lea Chavez reported to the PCG Sub-station Calatagan, Batangas that Gadbilao, her nephew, failed to return from fishing in the sea of Barangay Balitoc, Calatagan.

Gadbilao, along with fellow fishermen Johnmar Fronda and Mandy Calimag, departed from Barangay Santa Ana, Calatagan onboard FB Jazzyly on Monday night, February 12.

Fronda and Calimag said that their boat encountered engine trouble and big waves and an approaching larger vessel, prompting them to jump overboard, leaving Gadbilao behind.

Passing fishermen rescued Fronda and Calimag who were taken to the shoreline of Barangay Santa Ana on Wednesday morning.

Gadbilao, who was wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts, is yet to be found.

Coast Guard Sub-station Calatagan has coordinated with Coast Guard Sub-station Lubang about Gadbilao.

The PCG urges communities where these three fishermen are missing to stay vigilant and report any information that may aid in the search and rescue operation.
