Mabuhay ang mga bagong kasal!: Pasig City holds Valentine's Day mass wedding

A total of 30 couples got hitched on Wednesday, Feb. 14, during the Pasig City government's annual Kasalang Bayan in time for Valentine's Day.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto himself officiated the wedding where the couples were also serenaded by love songs before and after the ceremony. The event was held at the Tanghalang Pasigueño.

According to the city government, the annual Kasalang Bayan aims to give couples the chance to experience "walking down the aisle" during their wedding day.

“Hindi na po ako magbibigay ng payo sa inyo ha, wala naman po akong asawa (I won't be giving you any advice since I'm still not married yet)," Sotto jokingly said during the ceremony.

After the wedding, the newlyweds received tokens and will no longer have to pay for the processing of their respective marriage certificates from the City’s Civil Registry Office.
