Jealous man stabs wife to death

ILOILO CITY – A jealous man stabbed his wife to death in this city on Monday, February 12, just three days before Valentine’s Day.

Police identified the suspect as Domingo Lasa, 55.

Lasa admitted to police that he stabbed his 56-year-old wife Emilyn with a pair of scissors on Monday morning and left her body in an empty lot near a mall in Mandurriao District.

The suspect went home and her body was found in the afternoon.

Domingo drove his motorcycle to Lambunao, Iloilo to see his cousin to whom he revealed the incident and convinced him to surrender. The suspect turned himself in to the Mandurriao Police Station on Monday night.

The suspect told police that he thought his wife was having an affair with a neighbor in Barangay Bolilao here.

Domingo confronted his wife on Sunday night, February 11, for allegedly constantly sending text messages to her lover.

Their daughter tried to pacify them and Domingo expressed desire to commit suicide.

Suspect is facing parricide charges.
