The event, which Zamora himself officiated, was held at the San Juan Gymnasium and was also attended by his wife, Keri, San Juan City Rep. Bel Zamora, Vice Mayor Angelo Agcaoili, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Supervising Statistical Specialist Maricel Caragan, other city government officials
Zamora said each couple was given a wedding cake, a bouquet for the bride, and a cash gift from the city government. A wedding reception was also held after the ceremony.
“The Annual Kasalang Panlungsod continues to be a testament to the city's dedication to promoting love, dedication and unity with the objective of strengthening the San Juaneño Family. We are looking forward to witnessing the beginning of 57 beautiful love stories on this momentous day,” the mayor said.
During the ceremony, Zamora reminded the newlyweds about the importance of building a strong bond and constant communication with their respective partners as these are the keys to a long lasting relationship.
"Ako po ay turning 23 years married na at base sa aking kararanasan bilang isang asawa ay kinakailangan talaga yung understanding, yung communication, yung hind mo papalipasin ang araw na hind kinakausap ang iyong asawa kung may mga problemang kailangang ayusin ( I will be married for 23 years now and based on my experience as a husband: Understanding, communication, and the initiative to not let the day pass without talking with your partner about your problems and how to resolve it are the keys to a happy and strong marriage)," Zamora said.
"Meron at meron talagang mga pagsubok na pagdadaanan ang bawat mag asawa ngunit ang mahalaga dyan ay wag nating hayaang ang mga problema ay sirain ang ating relasyon. We must always communicate, we must always solve our problems immediately (Married couples will frequently encounter challenges in their married life, however, it is essential to not let these problems break the relationship. We must always communicate, we must always solve our problems immediately)," he added.
The city government passed City Ordinance No. 39, Series of 2022 or the Golden Wedding Anniversary Incentive Ordinance, wherein married couples who are still happily married and will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary will receive P50,000 as an incentive from the local government.
