The Department of Education-Paete received a chat message from an unknown sender that said bombs are set to go off in three public schools – Quinale Elementary School, Papatahan Elementary and High School, and Ibaba Elementary School – and the municipal hall.
It said: “May nakatanim na explosive bomb sa tatlong paaralan ng Paete at sa mismong munisipyo into at sasabog eksaktong oras na 2 ng hapon at marami ang mamamatay sa lugar na may nakatanim na bomba (A bomb has been planted in three schools in Paete and the municipal hall and these will go off at 2 exactly 2 p.m. and many will die because of these).”
Police were informed and coordinated with affected schools and the municipal government. Lawmen advised suspension of classes and work for the safety of the people and staff.
Authorities conducted paneling operation which ended at 1:30 p.m. after an all clear was declared.
