DPWH resumes work on flood control project; heavy traffic expected
The Antipolo City local government had issued a travel advisory and traffic scheme following the scheduled resumption of the Department of Public Works and Highways' (DPWH) flood control project on Masinag Intersection in Marcos Highway from Western Union until Hortaleza (direction going to Cogeo).

The city government said the project will resume on Monday, Feb. 19.
"Asahan po natin ang muling pagbigat ng daloy ng trapiko sa nasabing lugar. Inaasahang magtatagal hanggang July ang DPWH project kung kaya disiplina… kooperasyon… at pagtutulungan ang hiling namin sa bawat isa (Please expect heavy traffic in the area once again. It is expected that the DPWH project will last until July hence, we wish for everyone to exercise discipline, cooperation, and understanding during these times)," the local government unit (LGU) explained.
It also urged the public to take the following alternative routes or adjust their travel time in going to school or work to avoid inconvenience:
a. Crestview, Marcos Highway going to B.V. Soliven/Lilac St. (Panorama)
b. Agnesville, Sumulong Highway going to Marcos Highway (SM Cherry/Lumang Bayan)
c. OLFU, Sumulong Highway going to Marcos Highway (Blue Mountain)
"Pagkatapos ng proyekto, iibsan nito ang pagbaha sa bahagi ng Lower Antipolo at mga kalapit na bayan (Once completed, this flood control project will mitigate flooding in the area of Lower Antipolo and its nearby towns)," the LGU noted.
