Voter registration: 994 applicants processed in Taguig, 23 in Pateros
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices in the adjoining local government units of Taguig and Pateros have signed up a total of 1,017 persons on the first day of voter registration on Feb. 12.
The Comelec-Taguig office was swamped with people who wanted to register as a voter for the May 12, 2025 national and local elections. It said it processed 994 persons for the voter registration on Feb. 12.

However, there were only 23 people who registered as voters on Feb. 12 in Pateros, the smallest LGU in Metro Manila, according to Election Officer Armando Mallorca.
Of the 23, nine registered as new voters, 13 transferred their registration to Pateros from other LGUs, and one transferred within the same district and municipality.

Meanwhile, Comelec-Taguig announced that starting Feb. 12, securing a copy of voter’s certification from its office is now free to commemorate the National Voters Day.
For those belonging to the vulnerable sectors such as senior citizens, persons with disability (PWD), persons deprived of liberty (PDL), indigenous people, and members of the indigenous cultural communities, securing a copy of the voter’s registration will remain free.
