Thousands expected to join annual 'Walk for Life' in Manila — CBCP
The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on Tuesday, Feb. 13, announced the date and venue for the annual "Walk for Life" event.

In a statement, the church said the event, organized by the Council of the Laity of the Philippines, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Grandstand in Manila.
It said thousands of participants are expected to join the pre-dawn walk along España Boulevard, starting at the Welcome Rotonda at 4 a.m. It will culminate with a program and mass at UST.
“We will raise awareness on important life issues and the call for the defense of the unborn,” Bishop Severo Caeremare, chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on the Laity said.
This year's theme, "Together, We Walk for Life," highlighted the importance of “collective action” in protecting human life.
Pro-Life Philippines president Bernard Cañaberal will deliver the keynote address, followed by a mass presided over by Archbishop of Manila Cardinal Jose Advincula. CBCP President Bishops Pablo Virgilio David and Bishop Caeremare will join as concelebrants.
The church added that the Walk for Life was initiated in 2017 in response to rising concerns about “drug war killings and proposed death penalty reinstatement.” — It has since become an annual tradition that promotes the sanctity of human life and the family unit from threats such as abortion, divorce, and same-sex unions.
