BACOLOD CITY – A 40-year-old man was shot dead by his younger brother during a drinking spree in Purok Sunshine, Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Sunday, February 11.

Police identified the victim as Jay Malunes, 40, of Barangay E. Lopez.
Police Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, Silay police chief, said Jay and his younger brother Leonil, 37, were having a drinking session when a misunderstanding erupted that resulted in a fistfight.
Darroca said that Leonil pacified his older brother but Jay ran amuck. Leonil drew a gun and shot the victim.
The suspect fled and the victim died from bullet wounds in a hospital on Monday, February 12.
