BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-4.7 earthquake jolted Davao Occidental on Tuesday morning, February 13.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake was recorded at 4:45 a.m. and its epicenter was 284 kilometers (kms) southeast of Balut Island,
Sarangani, Davao Occidental. The earthquake had a depth of 75 kms, Phivolcs said.
Phivolcs said the tremor was caused by the Philippine Trench.
No damage and injuries are anticipated from the earthquake, Phivolcs said.
The Office of Civil Defense-Davao Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) reported no damage or injuries from the earthquake.
