Hog dealer wanted for rape arrested

AMULUNG, Cagayan – Police arrested on Monday, February 12, this province’s most wanted person in Gonzaga, Cagayan, for allegedly raping a minor seven years ago here.

Police Major Tristan John Zambale, police chief here, identified the suspect as hog dealer Peping, 33.

Investigation said the mother of victim went overseas in 2016 and left her to her auntie. Her auntie married the suspect who raped the victim on June 12, 2016.

The victim said she did not immediately report the abuse because she waited for her mother to return home last year.

Her mother filed a case last November and three months later, an arrest warrant was issued against the suspect.

The accused is detained at the provincial jail. No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary freedom.
