BOC-NAIA to require int'l passengers to submit baggage declaration cards anew
International passengers arriving in the Philippines may soon be required to submit baggage declaration cards, the Bureau of Customs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) said on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
BOC- NAIA Customs District Collector Yasmin Mapa said the declaration forms will be filled out manually upon arrival a the airport and must be immediately submitted to Customs Officer for clearance.
The requirement of declaration embarkation cards was temporarily stopped in 2007 due to complaints of congestion in the arrival area terminal of NAIA.
But NAIA Customs has decided to revive the requirement as manifested by the incusion of the Customs declaration card in the e-travel declaration of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
The BOC is now coordinating with the Airlines Operation Councils in disseminating information to both foreign and Filipino travelers.
