Valenzuela City gives free pneumonia vax to senior citizens
The Valenzuela City government announced on Monday, Feb. 12, that it opened free pneumonia vaccinations for senior citizens in the city.
It said that senior citizens ages 60 and above may visit the Social Hall at the Valenzuela City Hall, Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., to get a vaccine shot against the disease.
They should bring their Valenzuela City Office of the Citizens Affairs (OSCA) identification card, medical clearance (if they have co-morbidity), and pneumonia vaccine card (if any).
However, the city government said that those who have a cough, cold, fever, sore throat, or other flu symptoms, have received pneumonia vaccine before or received it within the last five years; received a vaccine within the past two weeks; or currently taking antibacterials or steroids will not be allowed to get the jabs.
A first-come, first-served policy will be implemented due to the limited supply of the vaccine, the city government said.
