The Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG)-Special Operations Unit (SOU)-Western Visayas identified the suspects as Lykey Vina, 38; Cherry Tuazon, 35, and a 19-year-old student, all residents of Barangay Sta. Elena, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.
The operation was in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)-Western Visayas and the Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (IMEG)-Visayas Field Unit.
Seized from the suspects were 600 grams of suspected shabu worth P4,080,000.
Police Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape Jr., Kabankalan police chief, said that Tuazon was the subject of the operation and her group had been monitored for months.
Indiape said suspects travel from one place to another to deliver illegal drugs sourced from Mindanao.
He said that some of the recovered shabu was hidden inside a stuffed toy while the rest was found in the suspects’ rented car. Also recovered from them was the P111,000 marked money.
Indiape said they are probing the background of the suspects to determine if they have previous cases or offenses and also find out if the seizure of more than P4-million worth of suspected shabu here and San Carlos City last week could be linked to this operation.
Suspects face charges for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
