Korean drowns in Cebu

CEBU CITY – A Korean drowned while swimming in the sea of Moalboal, Cebu at past noon on Sunday, February 11.

The fatality was identified as Youngkil Gee, 50. The victim was a guest in one of the resorts in the town.

Police said a fisherman found the Korean floating in the sea of Sitio Tongo, Barangay Basdiot.

The fisherman initially thought that the Korean was just snorkeling. The fisherman noticed that was no longer moving, prompting him to call for help.

Rescuers brought the Korean to the shore. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Police are investigating the cause behind the Korean’s drowning.
