CAMP PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur – A 33-year-old fisherman drowned while gathering seaweeds in Barangay San Isidro, San Juan, this province, on Sunday, February 11.
Police Major Benjamin Raquedan, San Juan chief of police, identified the victim as Laurence Rapacon from Barangay Sabangan, San Juan.
Investigation said Rapacon and a fellow fisherman set out to sea to gather seaweeds.
The victim dived into the sea but he was carried away by strong waves and drowned.
A search and rescue operation was conduected and Rapacon’s body was recovered at 3 p.m. on Monday, February 12.
