Cops net P1.9-M shabu in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY â€“ Police seized suspected shabu valued at P1.9 million from five drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Iloilo River Plains Subdivision, Barangay Lanit, Jaro District, this city, on Monday, February 12.

The Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-6 of the Police Regional Office-6 said suspects Joemarie, Rufino, Jhon, Elner, and Antonio were apprehended after selling shabu to an undercover policeman.

Seventeen sachets of shabu were recovered from the suspects who face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.

The PRO-6 lauded the operating unit for a job well done.

"This successful operation is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our police personnel. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of our communities by rooting out criminal elements and upholding the rule of law," said Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 director.

Villaflor said there will be no let-up in the illegal drug campaign in Western Visayas as long as he is the top cop.
