PVL aligns calendar with FIVB schedule

The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) has aligned its calendar with the sports’ world governing body FIVB to consistently integrate domestic and international volleyball events.

The league will have two conferences this year with the season-opening All-Filipino hostilities firing off on Feb. 20, followed by the Reinforced Invitational, which will feature foreign guest players while excluding national team members.

The said second conference will also have two foreign teams to add international flair to the competition.

After a break, the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference will commence from October this year to May 2025, offering an extended season with hopes of delivering top-tier volleyball action.

"This year's calendar is designed to align with the FIVB schedule, ensuring a seamless integration of international and domestic volleyball events. We are committed to delivering a world-class experience for our fans and players alike," said league president Ricky Palou, who is also the head of the organizing Sports Vision.

The upcoming All-Filipino Conference will feature 12 teams including debuting Capital1 and Strong Group Athletics. Defending champion Creamline banners the field that also has Akari, Chery Tiggo, Choco Mucho, Cignal, Farm Fresh, Galeries Tower, Nxled, Petro Gazz and PLDT.

The conference will also have two Japanese coaches in Petro Gazz mentor Koji Tsuzurabara and Nxled’s Taka Minowa.
