Actress Jessy Mendiola admits to having insecurities despite being one of the country's most beautiful celebrities.
"Oo naman, paminsan-minsan nai-insecure rin ako," said Jessy when asked about insecurities at the launch of her latest endorsement for Health Fusion’s Beauty Bunny gummy vitamins, held recently at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. (Sure, sometimes I get insecure, too!)
Jessy added: "Noong nanganak ako nagbago na ang shape ng katawan ko. Sometimes after mo manganak, sa mga mommy, may hairfall, may hair loss, skin becomes dry, and our nails become brittle. Mangyayari talaga yun eh. Part yun ng insecurities ko so ginagawan ko na lang siya ng paraan. So I take my vitamins, and I workout. So fight lang tayo. Laban!"
(When I gave birth, the shape of my body changed. Sometimes, after giving birth, mommies have hair fall, hair loss, dry skin, and brittle nails. That really happens. It's part of my insecurities, so I just fix it. So I take my vitamins and work out. So let's fight it.)
Jessy, 31, mentioned that her concept of beauty had shifted after she got married and became a mother.

"In life, the only constant is change. I always remind myself to accept myself in whatever season I am in. So from singlehood to getting married to Luis, motherhood, talagang mag-iiba: career, skin, body, mindset, priorities, and goals.

"The best advice is to accept the change in life. And that's the time you work on your new self. That's what I do, and it makes things easier. Noong hindi pa ako nanganganak, meron tayong time magmuni-muni sa umaga. Pero now, pag-gising mo, direcho ka na sa anak mo. I accept the change and my new self. I try to be the version of myself from now on," she said.

Before I gave birth, we had time to reflect in the morning. But now, when you wake up, go straight to your child. I accept the change and my new self. I will try to be the version of myself from now on.)

Jessy described the details of her day, showcasing how she maximized her time to achieve her goals.
"I wake up early in the morning. Nauuna pa ako sa daughter ko magising. I make sure she eats her breakfast hanggang sa bath time na niya.
(I wake up early in the morning, before my daughter. I make sure she eats her breakfast until bath time.)
"On her second nap, marami pa siyang naps kasi baby pa ang anak ko, doon na ako nagwo-workout, nagpapaganda, content creating. Lahat yan ginagawa ko habang tulog siya. When she wakes up, I feed her again. Then we read a little, we play a little. Kapag napagod siya, matutulog uli siya. Then siesta time na niya.
(On her second nap, she takes many more naps because my daughter is still a baby; that's when I work out, beautify, and create content. I do all that while she sleeps. When she wakes up, I feed her again. Then we read a little and played a little. When she gets tired, she goes to sleep again. Then it's her siesta time.)

"After that, we go for a walk and play again. We do our activities together. After dinner, I read her books again, hanggang sa makatulog na siya. That's the time I do other things I want to do. I also read books, watch TV, and have a glass of wine. I do things na nagpapa-wind down sa akin bago natulog," Jessy said.

Jessy was surprised she could accomplish all of these tasks in one day while preparing for her showbiz comeback this year. "As a mom, I was really surprised na nagagawa ko ito in one day. Pipilitin mo talagang gawin yun as a mom. Of course, it's always quality over quantity."
Despite her busy schedule, Jessy makes sure that she takes out some time for herself.
"You really have to make time for it kahit na gaano ka ka-busy. I make sure I take my vitamins and work out. As I have said, you really need to harmonize everything. If you are happy with yourself, you are confident, lalabas yun at makikita yun ng mga tao. It all starts from inside. Kapag glowing ka, people see it no matter how much makeup you put on. Whatever makes you happy, go for it," she said.

Jessy is content with her husband and daughter as she strives for harmony in life.
"I'm super happy with my daughter Peanut and Luis (Manzano) and the overflowing blessings from the Lord," she said.
"I would be lying kung sasabihin ko na napaka-daling mag balance ng life especially kung wife ka na and mother ka na. I'm sure sa mga mommy rito sobrang hirap di ba? Lalo na if you're the type of mom na devoted talaga na nag-aalaga sa family mo.
"For me you don't use the word balance. You use the word harmony kasi you will never be able to prioritize yourself. Magpaka-totoo na tayo. Kahit nasa sabihin ko na I will prioritize myself. Kailangan maganda tayo, fresh tayo.
"Magpapakatotoo na ako. Hindi tayo fresh lagi. Hindi ko talaga mapa-prioritize yung sarili ko lagi but it's okay. That's life! That's why you have all these products with your beauty and wellness. The word harmony is perfect because you harmonize everything in life: motherhood, your family, career. And that's what makes a great life. You are able to harmonize everything," she added.
