The two OPM stalwarts will perform on separate dates. Geneva kicks off the three-day V-Day concert series on Feb. 13 at 8:00 p.m., while Kris performs at the same time on Feb. 14 and 15.
Geneva and Kris throw their all-out support for the plush entertainment venue owned by their manager, Arnold Vegafria, who opened The Palace last year amid glowing reviews from Olongapo denizens and bar habitues.
The four-level entertainment hub boasts of a fine dining restaurant, events place and VIP lounge/live band stage at the first level, a sports bar and KTV rooms at the second level, and will soon open its hotel rooms at the third and fourth floors.
“It’s my humble way of bringing back the glory days of Olongapo City,” affirms the respected showbiz impresario, speaking proudly of his hometown. “Music and culture have always been at the forefront of the city’s major attraction, especially during the ‘70s when the bases were still around.”
“By bringing back the live bands and the party scene, we also hope to rekindle Olongapo City’s tourist boom, which should help boost our local economy.”
Last year, Geneva kept herself busy with her concert stints at Winford Hotel, PAGCOR, and other corporate events. She also had guesting stints in the Kapuso shows Tadhana, Wish Ko Lang and Magpakailanman. She is currently one of the guests in the long-running drama series, Abot-Kamay na Pangarap.
She also remains very much the poster girl for women empowerment because of her health, fitness and environmental advocacies, as well as her dedication as Philippine Air Force reservist.
Aside from his singing stints, Kris has been immersing himself in his newfound passion for art. He talks proudly about his first art exhibit held earlier this month, the ARTSplash Group Show, and his collaboration with 31 other artists held at The Palms Country Club in Filinvest, Alabang.
Asked about his favorite medium, he says, “It’s abstract for now. It allows me to freely express myself, if that makes sense. I’m still experimenting on other mediums. I’d like to take it as far as I’ve taken my singing. I’ve developed a passion for it and somehow felt the link between art and music.”
“I’m still making customized luxury bags, painting a lot, and getting myself right spiritually, physically, and emotionally.”
While he admits to dating someone, Kris prefers to keep mum about his lovelife until he finds “the one,” although he quickly retorts, “But I’d love to play Cupid and set the mood for lovers and hopefully give them a good show to celebrate Valentine’s Day!”
Aside from its Valentine’s Day specials, The Palace also boasts of its week-long offerings, including Ballroom Dancing on Sundays, Retro Party every Tuesday, and live band music from Thursday to Saturday, featuring some of Olongapo City’s finest bands including Fundamentals, Crimson Redd and Brown Candle.
