Free TDC? Just contact LTO, Mendoza urges brgy officials as 389 Marikina residents undergo free seminar
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said on Saturday, Feb. 10, that it is ready to provide free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) to barangays as part of its nationwide outreach program.
LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II said barangay officials would just write the agency’s regional directors in their respective areas expressing intent to host a free two-day TDC seminar.
The TDC is one of the major requirements in securing a driver’s license and according to Mendoza, this would save the participants with at least P1,000, the normal fee being charged by driving schools for TDC.
“Interested barangays could just write us a letter and we assure that we will go to their areas to provide free TDC,” said Mendoza.
He said the free TDC program is supported by President Marcos and Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista in a bid to train more disciplined drivers to ensure safety of all road users.
In Marilina City, a total of 389 residents benefitted from the free TDC which was hosted by the Marikina District Office and officials of Barangays Tañong, San Roque, Nangka and Fortune.
The two-day free TDC started on Saturday, February 10 with 120 residents from Barangay Nangka, 95 residents from Barangay Fortune, 92 residents from Barangay Tañong, and 82 residents of Barangay San Roque.
“This program also covers pre-registration for driver’s license application,” said Mendoza.
Mendoza earlier tasked all LTO Regional Directors and District Office heads to conduct more free TDC programs as a form of assistance to Filipinos.
