A Chinese national was found dead inside his condominium unit in Binondo, Manila on Chinese New Year eve on Friday, Feb. 9.
The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the man as Zeng Liang, 37, a resident of Ongpin Street in Binondo.
According to the responding officers, the victim’s co-worker reported the incident to them after discovering Liang's body at around 7:10 p.m.
Police found his lifeless and naked body lying on the floor beside his bed.
The victim’s co-worker, who was also living with the man in the same condo unit, said that she was about to check the condition of the man only to find him lying on the floor and not breathing.
She said the man was last seen alive lying on his bed before she left their unit on Friday morning.
She also informed the authorities about the victim’s medical condition.
She said the victim had started to experience difficulty walking last January, which became severe later on.
She added that he was a chain smoker.
After conducting cursory examinations, authorities did not find any sign of external injuries and had concluded that he died of natural causes.
However, the victim’s body was brought to Cruz Funeral Service for an autopsy examination.
