“We assure you that this amount would truly serve the people of Ilocos Norte through great economic activities and progress in our beloved province,” said Manotoc during the turnover in a media forum in Quezon City on Thursday, February 8.

Christopher Yae, 2024 Anvil president,  said this donation is their unique way of celebrating the Chinese New Year and helping rural development and MSMEs.

Yae, Jayson Sze, Anvil 2023 president; Anvil Chairman  Wilson Lee Flores, and Anvil Chairman Emeritus, George Siy, signed the Deed of Donation.

Sze and Flores initiated the donation to help victims of super typhoon "Egay" in Ilocos Norte last July but due to scheduling constraints, the fund was not immediately utilized.

The provincial government and Anvil, heeding the suggestion of honorary chairman Hubert Henry Chua, reallocated the money to support entrepreneurs by improving the capacity of the Ilocos Norte MSME Incubation Center in Laoag City to promote more sustainable business project

Manotoc said the donation will help MSMEs that compose 95 percent of business establishments in the province.
