Till drugs do us part: Couple yields more than P1-M shabu

A couple was arrested by the Rodriguez Municipal Drug Enforcement Team (MDET) on Tuesday, Jan. 30, for illegal drugs in Dike 2, Barangay Balite, Rodriguez Rizal.

According to the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO), the suspects were identified as "Karyo," 43, and "Edelyn," 34. Both are residents of Rodriguez, Rizal.

They were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation where the police recovered from them a total of P1,020,000 worth of shabu and other drug paraphernalia.

The police said Karyo and Edelyn have previously been arrested for illegal drugs prior to the operation.

The couple was brought to the Rizal Provincial Forensic Unit for documentation and is now detained at the Rodriguez Custodial Facility. Charges for violation of R.A 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being filed against the suspects.
