Coron-based resort Club Paradise Palawan was awarded the Green Hotel Standard at the 2024 ASEAN Tourism Forum in Vientiane, Laos, marking a major stride toward responsible tourism.
The award recognizes hotels committed to sustainable tourism through environmentally friendly practices and principles, human resource development, consumption management, and local community engagement.

“This recognition not only sets a standard for Club Paradise Palawan but also serves as an inspiration for others in the hospitality industry to adopt similar eco-friendly practices,” a company statement read.
As part of its eco-initiatives, the tropical resort, through the program EcoConserve, sources herbs and vegetables directly from its organic Taranuman Farm, which was constructed using recycled materials.
The resort also started replacing small plastic tubes for bath amenities with refillable pumps, and plastic wrappers and packaging with recycled papers to help promote conscious consumption.

Meanwhile, the awards ceremony cited a total of 21 tourism stakeholders and three cities from the Philippines.
“The winners made not only significant revenue contributions to the country but also employed millions of Filipinos,” said Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco.
