Taguig LGU bewails closure of daycare centers in EMBO barangays

The Taguig City government scored the closure of daycare centers in EMBO (enlisted men’s barrio) barangays.

Ten 10 EMBO barangays are now part of Taguig based on a final Supreme Court decision last year.

In a statement, the Taguig City government said recently the Makati City government closed the daycare centers in EMBO areas without any notice and allegedly removed all playground fixtures.

“Walang dapat ikabahala ang mga magulang at mag-aaral ng daycare centers (Parents and pupils of daycare centers should not worry),” said the city government.

In response, the city government said it immediately acted together with the Schools Division Office of Taguig and Pateros in order that the opening of classes on Feb. 5 will push through.

It said the nearest elementary school will temporarily serve as daycare centers in the barangay while new daycare centers are being prepared in EMBO areas.

If needed, it said, the city government will provide shuttle service for daycare students who are far from the temporary daycare centers.

The Taguig City government provided school supplies and uniforms to the daycare children.
