New architects told: ‘Bring positive change, serve fellow Filipinos’


Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday, Feb. 1, congratulated the country’s new architects, and asked them to bring positive change through their work and serve their fellow Filipinos.

The official said that this recent achievement was a result of their “hard work, sacrifice, and the challenges” they have faced in pursuing their dreams.

“May you serve our fellow Filipinos with unwavering dedication, boundless creativity, and a deep passion that will bring about positive change not only within our community but also within our nation,” she said in a statement.

“May your career be filled with inspiring projects, continuous professional development, and the fulfillment of your architectural aspirations as you embark on this exciting new chapter,” she added.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Wednesday, Jan. 31, announced that 1,809 out of 2,933 passed the Licensure Examination for Architects (LEA) given by the Board of Architecture.

The top performing school in the January 2024 LEA is University of Santo Tomas (UST) with an 82.09 percent passing rate.

Sherilyn Reyes Baniago from University of the East - Caloocan topped the exam with an 85.50 rating. She’s followed by Jearlene Daleon Lipa of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation and Julian Aldrin Claudio Medina of De La Salle University - Dasmariñas for the second ranking with 85.30.
