Ilocos Norte celebrates 206th anniversary

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte â€“ The province of Ilocos Norte celebrates its 206th foundation anniversary on Friday, February 2.

Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc will lead the celebration starting with a flag-raising ceremony and highlighted by the distribution of assistance and awarding of projects for residents at the provincial capitol here.

The groundbreaking of the Ilocos Norte Central Terminal Hub and Parking Building will also be held on Friday.

A concert will be held in front of the provincial capitol in the evening, with performances from local talents and the Filipino pop rock band Orange and Lemons.

The Communications and Media Office (CMO) said other activities for the anniversary is the 11th Tan-Ok ni Ilocano: Festival of Festivals, a grand celebration of culture and arts showcasing festivals from the different municipalities and cities of the province on February 16 at the Ferdinand E. Marcos Memorial Stadium here.
