A 35-year-old man was arrested by the authorities after he stabbed and killed another man following a heated argument in Tondo, Manila on Wednesday night, Jan. 31.
The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Jonathan Ferrer, a resident of Tondo.
Police said the suspect and the victim, identified as Ronaldo Hipolito, were seen arguing on Sta. Catalina Street in Barangay 102, Tondo at around 7:10 p.m.
A witness said that at the peak of their heated argument, the duo engaged in a fistfight, but they were immediately pacified by the suspect's sister.
The suspect, however, took a bladed weapon from his house and went back to the scene, and chased and stabbed the victim in the back.
The suspect escaped while the victim was rushed to Tondo General Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival at 7:40 p.m.
The suspect was later arrested and is now facing murder charges, police said.
