The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has announced that the agency has 1,518 job vacancies that urgently require staffing.
According to BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr., these positions span across various roles including administrative aides, statisticians, revenue and intelligence officers, IT specialists, accountants, engineers, and lawyers.
Notably, a significant portion of these vacancies, totaling 1,089, are designated for both assessment and non-assessment revenue officers.
Revenue officers receive a monthly compensation equivalent to salary grade (SG) 11, starting at a minimum of P27,000.
Other positions begin at SG-11, with a starting salary of P14,678, and go up to SG-18, with a salary of P46,725.
“If you are interested in the following position titles, you may get in touch with us at: [email protected],” Lumagui said.
Successful applicants, however, will bear significant responsibilities, as the BIR aims to collect P3.05 trillion this year.
Lumagui earlier pushed for salary hikes for BIR staff, highlighting challenges in retaining and attracting lawyers and accountants who are drawn to agencies offering better compensation.
“We are finding it difficult to recruit personnel considering the low salary for lawyers and accountants are competitive with agencies such as the Public Attorney’s Office and the Civil Service Commission,” Lumagui said.
Latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority showed there were a total of 1.83 million jobless Filipinos as of November last year.
