At a glance
Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and Beauty Gonzalez are grateful for the second season of "Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis" on GMA Network which will premiere on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 7:15 p.m.
"Everybody was so happy, and we had good ratings during the first season. But I was really hoping for season 2. I went to churches, and now we have season 2. It was a fun show, and it's so nice to make people happy," said Beauty during an exclusive interview in Quezon City recently.
Bong said: "We're thankful for GMA for season 2 of the series. In fact, pinapili ako noon, kung season 2 or Alyas Pogi. Gusto ko season 2, kasi action ito at malakas din. Mas pinalaki ang casting, ang action scenes at mas pinasaya. Thankful talaga ako sa GMA."
"May makikita silang changes sa aming dalawa. May konting twist pero hindi muna puwedeng sabihin. Ayaw namin maging spoiler. Papasok sa amin si Celeste Cortesi, Herlene Budol, Jestoni Alarcon, Roi Vinzon at Sanya Lopez. Max Collins is still with us. Pelikula ang attack namin dito pero mapapanood ito sa telebisyon.
"Kaya nga sabi ko, kung gagawa uli ako ng series na ganito, parang pelikula. Ayoko i-shortchange yung tao. I'm not getting any younger, so I should do it right," Bong added.
Beauty, who plays Gloria, revealed that she would engage in more action scenes this time. She said she prepared for her stunts in the series.
"We have stuntmen who help us get in form and shape. Also senator Bong oversees kung tama ba yung mga ginagawa namin. Our director is also good. With the full support of the action team, naitawid ko naman," she said.
Bong answered when asked if Beauty got hurt in some of the action scenes.
"Minsan. Hindi talaga maiiwasan ang sakitan (sa mga action scenes). At hindi mo rin naman sinasadya," said the senator. "Accidentally, I got hit in the eye. Natakot ako. Akala ko nabulag ako eh."
Beauty said: "Medyo natakot ako kasi senador sya at Bong Revilla pa" to which the actor laughed. "Gusto ko na talaga matunaw noon," she added.
Bong said: "That's part of being an action star. Baptism of fire sa kanya yun as an actor."
Beauty laughed and said: "Hindi na niya ako makakalimutan."
Bong answered: "Talagang hindi ko siya makakalimutan. Kasi akala ko nabulag ako ni Beauty. Pumunta ako ng hospital. Hindi talaga ako makakita. Iyak s'ya eh. Magpapasko pa naman noon. Sabi niya, 'Naku nabulag ko yata. Pero okay naman. Pinawisan daw talaga yung underarm niya. God is good. Kapag umaksyon na si Beauty, para na siyang nasasapian. In fairness, napakagaling niya. Hindi niya sinasadya.
"Noong isang gabi maganda yung eksena niya. Nawala ka naman sa sarili. Umakyat siya ng gate. Pagbaba niya, cut! Pagtingin sa cellphone niya, basag! 'Bakit basag ito? Basag yung cellphone. Nasapian na naman siya. Hindi ko siya nilalaglag. She's a good actor," Bong said.
Beauty was apologetic to Bong. Despite the minor accident, Bong said that Beauty will do more action scenes in the series.
