Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano turned over various rescue equipment to 10 barangays in the city aimed at fully equipping them with the necessary tools and items needed during the conduct of rescue operations.
Rubiano said the recipient communities are Barangays 176, 177, 178, 179, 180, 181, 182, 183, 184 and 201. These are all located near creeks and the riverside and are prone to flooding during typhoons.
She said the barangays were given fiberglass boats, rescue life vests, ring buoys, water ropes, rescue cans and helmets.
Barangay rescue teams were also given training on the use of the equipment.
