ILOILO CITY — The ash fall from the Monday eruption of Mount Kanlaon in Negros Occidental province reached Iloilo, Guimaras, and Antique provinces.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology confirmed reports of ash fall on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
The entire island province of Guimaras, which is situated between Negros and Panay Islands, was affected. There was ash fall in all five towns of Guimaras: Jordan, Buenavista, Nueva Valencia, San Lorenzo, and Sibunag.
The southern towns of Iloilo province including Igbaras, Oton, Tigbauan, Guimbal, and Miag-ao had ash fall.
There was slight ash fall recorded in Iloilo City and the neighboring town of Pavia.
In Antique province, the ash fall reached the capital town of San Jose de Buenavista as well as the municipalities of of Belison, Patnongon, and San Remigio.
Several local government units (LGUs) and schools in Iloilo, Guimaras, and Aklan suspended physical classes on Tuesday.
