1,500 Malabueño children receive Christmas gift during PBBM's nationwide gift-giving initiative

A total of 1,500 children in Malabon received Christmas gifts from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as part of the nationwide gift-giving program at the Malabon Sports Complex on Sunday, Dec. 8.

The initiative, dubbed “Balik Sigla, Bigay Saya,” was led by the Office of the President through the Social Secretary’s Office in partnership with the Malabon city government, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).


The program aimed to bring joy to children by providing practical gifts, including trolley bags, watches, tumblers, socks, face and hand towels, and raincoats—essentials they can use for school or daily activities.

The event highlighted the collaborative efforts of the national and local governments to foster the holiday spirit and bring happiness to children in Malabon.


Mayor Jeannie Sandoval expressed her gratitude for PBBM’s initiative, emphasizing its positive impact on the children.

 

“Ngayong nalalapit na Kapaskuhan, nais nating ipadama ang tunay na diwa nito, ang pagmamahalan at pagbibigayan. At ang programang ito, sa pangunguna ng ating kagalang-galang na Pangulong Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. ay isang paraan para maipadama ang mga ito sa mga kabataan. Patuloy ang suporta natin sa mga programa ng pamahalaan para sa ikabubuti at ikakasaya ng mga Malabueño (As the Christmas season approaches, we aim to embody its true spirit—love and generosity. This program, led by our honorable President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr., serves as a means of extending these values to our youth. We will continue to support government initiatives that bring joy and betterment to the lives of Malabueños),” she said


City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete also lauded the program, highlighting its role in promoting unity and hope,


“Patunay ang mga ganitong programa na tayong mga Pilipino ay nagkakaisa ano man ang panahaon. Kasabay nito ay ang ating pagtampok ng kulturang Bayanihan para sa pagdiriwang ng Kapaskuhan 2024. Sama-sama tayo sa pag-unlad at pag-ahon. Kaya’t tayo ay nagpapasalamat sa Pangulo sa pagbibigay ng saya sa mga bata sa lungsod (Programs like these are a testament to the unity of Filipinos, no matter the season. Alongside this is our celebration of the Bayanihan spirit as we welcome Christmas 2024. Together, we move forward and rise as one. We extend our gratitude to the President for bringing joy to the children of our city),” he said.
