Tricycle driver gunned down in Laguna

SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna – A 31-year-old tricycle driver was shot dead on Saturday in Barangay San Antonio here.

Police identified the victim as Resty A. Hernandez.

Investigation said that the victim was sitting in his tricycle when two men onboard a motorcycle appeared.

One of them went down and shot the victim. Hernandez died on the spot. They fled towards Pagsanjan St. here.

The gunman was wearing dark green shirt, bonnet, maong shorts, and slippers, 5'2" in height, and medium built. The driver was wearing a gray shirt and light maong pants and had a sling bag.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.

2 killed in Laguna collision

ALAMINOS, Laguna – A 26-year-old security officer and his companion were killed after their motorcycle collided with a tow truck in Barangay San Benito on Saturday.

The motorcycle driver was identified as Gregorio Madeja Jr. married. His back rider was unidentified.

The victims sustained severe injuries and were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.

The truck driver faces appropriate cases.

Woman stabbed dead

TANAUAN CITY, Batangas – A 27-year-old woman was stabbed dead by two men here on Saturday.

The victim was identified as Zachin G. Lumpod, single.

A pedestrian found her bloodied body and reported the discovery to the barangay.

Lumpod was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead.

Police arrested the suspects Arman, 21, single, helper, and John, 19, single, jobless, in a follow-up operation.

A follow-up investigation is being conducted.
