Lady motorcyclist killed in Cadiz City crash

BACOLOD CITY â€“ A 23-year-old motorcycle rider died after she was run over by a trailer truck in Hacienda Yee-on, Barangay Cabahug, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Friday, Dec. 6.

Police Lt. Col. John Joel Batusbatusan, Cadiz police chief, identified the victim as Mary Ann Labrador of Barangay Tiglawigan, Cadiz City.

Labrador was driving a motorcycle and overtook the truck driven by a 54-year-old resident of Sagay City.

She lost control of the motorcycle when she saw an approaching mini dump truck on the opposite lane. The victim crashed and was hit by the rear tire of the truck.

Labrador sustained severe head injuries and was declared dead in a hospital.

Police said that both parties have reached an initial settlement.
