ZAMBOANGA CITY – Three family members died in a fire which gutted their house and store in Isabela City, Basilan at dawn on Monday, Dec. 9.

The victims were identified as Hji Hadjira Cabato, 40; her husband Alnajer Cabato, 54; and their daughter, Jehana, 17.
Witnesses said the fire started near the house of the Cabatos and rapidly spread to their house and store.
The victims, however, failed to make it out on time due to the rapid spread of the flames. Two other houses were burned.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
