Siargao, Doon partner to transport surfing tilt competitors

A peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace recently partnered with the island of Siargao, dubbed as the surfing capital of the Philippines, to provide transportation for the 2024 Siargao International Surfing Cup QS 5000.

Doon offered a free Hop-On, Hop-Off transportation service for all registered users in 12 designated pickup points on the island from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the event.

According to Doon, this addressed congestion in high-traffic areas like General Luna and provided visitors with a reliable, sustainable, and convenient way to navigate the island.

Doon established comfortable and shaded waiting in HOHO stops that provided a pleasant space for travelers while waiting for their rides.

These stops were key locations on the island such as General Luna Market, Alon, Two Brown Boys, Secret Beach, and Sur.

Company officials said their transportation initiatives align with its commitment to sustainable travel.

According to them, their partnership with Siargao underscores their dedication to revolutionizing travel and supporting world-class events like the Siargao International Surfing Cup.

The event at Cloud 9 was participated in by surfers and enthusiasts worldwide from Oct. 26 to Nov. 4.
