BAGUIO CITY - The dismembered remains of a police officer killed by a colleague in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City were discovered in the ancestral home of the suspect here on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Police Executive Master Sgt. Emmanuel Ballos de Asis.
De Asis was allegedly killed by Police Lt. Col. Roderick T. Pascua.
The victim assigned to the Puerto Princesa City police station was brutally murdered on Nov. 28 after he was allegedly caught by the suspect having an intimate relationship with his wife Police Executive Master Sgt. Rosemarie Pascua.
Taguig police chief Police Col. Joey Goforth said Pascua confessed to shooting De Asis in a fit of rage.
Pascua cut the victim's body using a hacksaw, packed the remains in sacks, and transported them to his ancestral home for disposal.
Pascua is currently in police custody and has undergone inquest proceedings for the heinous crime.
The incident has sparked outrage and grief in De Asis' family, particularly within the influential Freemasonry Fraternity, of which the victim was a member.
