Having developed 11 golf courses, the Sta. Lucia Group gained the distinction of being the Philippines’ leading golf developer. Offering beyond premium residential and commercial projects, the developer has established itself as a significant force in the local golf scene by introducing some of the most prominent facilities in the country.
A gentle marvel
Picturesque, sprawling, and masterfully designed - these are just some of the ways one can describe the golf courses operated by Sta. Lucia. Having worked with world-renowned golfers and designers in the industry, players can look forward to a challenging yet fun golfing experience at the same time savoring the delightful view of landscapes and refreshing breeze.
A masterclass in design
The Orchard Golf and Country Club boasts two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer and Gary Player respectively.
The Orchard helped boost the popularity of golf in the country by hosting two international tournaments, the Johnnie Walker Classic in 1995 and the Johnnie Walker Super Tour in 1996.
Eagle Ridge features four world championship golf courses, each designed by these four golf icons, Greg Norman, Isao Aoki, Nick Faldo, and Andy Dye. Each course has unique specific challenges and setups.
Another aspect worth noticing is the country clubhouse with its facilities and classy aesthetics. A standout among Sta. Lucia golf projects is the Summit Point Golf and Country Club which has a striking European style architecture. Its design has captured the attention of many which makes it a popular haven for golf enthusiasts.
An optimistic outlook
Recently, Sta. Lucia Land Group Chairman Vicente Santos, accompanied by the General Manager of Pinewoods Golf, Tom Clemente III, and Beverly Place Golf Club General Manager, Elson Alvaran, were among those invited during the meeting with Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Cynthia Garcia Frasco to discuss initiatives to reinforce the country’s position as a golf tourism hub.
At the same time, Sta. Lucia's developed golf clubs are actively developing the growth of the game by creating programs for junior golf development at the grassroots level. A brainchild of Santos, tournaments and golf training among club member’s dependents children, club employees, and caddies are being implemented with the help of the various company-developed golf club’s Board of Directors and officers.
As part of its operation, Sta. Lucia aims to partner with local government efforts, especially in sustainability and eco- friendly programs.
With its years of expertise, Sta. Lucia continues to initiate golf-related activities as it takes the lead in enhancing the game and achievable to all Filipinos.
